Oahu luaus in 2026

A luau is an evening of Hawaiian food, music and dance. On Oahu the shows sit in three different places: the leeward side near Ko Olina, the Kapolei area, and the Polynesian Cultural Center in Lāʻie on the North Shore. Where you stay decides which one is practical, because the drive from Waikiki is the main difference between them.

Paradise Cove Luau at Ko Olina closed on 31 December 2025, even though its website still shows prices. Do not book it. The prices below come from the operators' own sites in October 2026, and they can change, so confirm the final price at checkout.

Kaula Lūʻau at Ko Olina

Kaula Lūʻau opened on 27 February 2026. It is run by the Hawaiian Council in partnership with Ko Olina and stands on a different site from the old Paradise Cove, at Waipahe Place in Kapolei, at the Ocean's Edge lagoon 4.

Three tickets are on sale in 2026: Standard at $169 for adults, VIP at $249, and a cocktail and dinner option at $119. Ages are priced in tiers: adults are 21 and over, youth 12 to 20, children 4 to 11, and babies up to 3 are free. The show starts at 7:30 pm from June to August and at 7:00 pm from September to May.

The operator lists the distance to the airport as about 17 miles. Plan a car, a shuttle or a tour with transport from Waikiki, and check what is included when you book.

Germaine's Luau in Kapolei

Germaine's lists three ticket levels as "from" prices on its own site in October 2026: $128 for Makai, $167 for Original and $242 for Plumeria. The breakdown by age group is not shown on the operator's page, so confirm it before you book. The show runs on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with check-in from 5:30 pm, and lasts about 3 hours.

Germaine's lists its transport options on its own site. With the Plumeria level, round-trip transport from Waikiki is included, and you reserve your seat 24 hours ahead. With Original and Makai the transport costs $35 per person. If you drive, parking is free at Plumeria and $5 per vehicle at the others.

Prices on third-party sales sites can differ from the operator's, because they may add tax or fees. Compare like for like.

Aliʻi Lūʻau at the Polynesian Cultural Center

The Aliʻi Lūʻau is a package, not a stand-alone dinner. At $197.95 for adults and $157.96 for children 4 to 11 in 2026, it combines entry to the Island Villages, the luau and the evening show "HĀ: Breath of Life" with Gold seats. The luau runs from 4:30 to 6:05 pm, with last seating at 5:40 pm.

The Polynesian Cultural Center is closed on Sundays and Wednesdays, with exceptions in 2026. Wednesday is open from 1 July to 5 August and on 25 November, 23 December and 30 December 2026. It is also closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. See the Polynesian Cultural Center guide for more.

How to choose a luau

The shows differ more by place and transport than by anything else.

You want transport solved

Germaine's includes Waikiki transport at the Plumeria level and sells it for $35 per person at the others.

You want a full day

The Aliʻi Lūʻau package at the Polynesian Cultural Center fills the afternoon and evening on the North Shore. Check the closing days first.

You are staying in Ko Olina

Kaula Lūʻau is the local one. Look at the three ticket levels and the show start for your month.

You are traveling with children

Kaula and the Polynesian Cultural Center price children 4 to 11 separately. Ask Germaine's for its age tiers before booking.

If you are still deciding where to base yourself, see where to stay on Oahu. For the full list of day trips, see tours compared. The Polynesian Cultural Center sits on the North Shore.

Why Paradise Cove is not listed

Paradise Cove Luau at Ko Olina closed on 31 December 2025. The operator's website still lists its old packages and a transport price, but it also says the final sunset has passed. Older guides, comparison sites and some booking pages may still show it as available.

If you see Paradise Cove offered anywhere, treat the listing as out of date. Kaula Lūʻau now serves the same area at a different site.
